My designs are often born based on a color palette, similar textures and sometimes just from an artist’s intuition. Like interlocking puzzle pieces, certain shapes naturally nestle together. Each completed design is a unique creation, therefore no two are ever alike and cannot be recreated. Sea-gathered collective sculptures currently appear on a variety of what I call my canvases. Keeping with a picture perfect early morning ocean sunrise, all the canvases are chalk painted Salt (white), Sand (beige), Drift (gray), Sunrise (blush), or Sea (sea glass), distressed, adorned, waxed and finally sealed. Along with my signature each collective sculpture features a sand dollar dove* and keepsake bookmark.
*According to legend, the sand dollar tells the story of Christ. The Star of Bethlehem is displayed on the top. The four slotted sand dollar holes represent the four nail holes plus the longer slot, the spear in His side. When broken, five winged doves are released to share His peace and goodwill. May His peace and goodwill find its way to you.
